Phone Photo Diary: Kittens and September

Photo 2014-09-25, 7 28 10 PM

September’s been pretty nice so far. Besides math class and really long subway rides, school is fine. My family rescued this kitten from the side of the road during the last few days of summer. It’s gotten healthy again and living in a new home. It’s been raining a lot! I’ve developed a love for taking photos rain, it looks great in photos. On a less serious subject I finally went to Chipotle and bought a $10 burrito. It was definitively good but I couldn’t finish it!

Here are some of my favourite songs so far this month. I’ve been especially been loving Bastille’s album and Ariana Granda’s now album.

Fall Reads

I’ve read a few too many books this summer about road trips and and very predictable romantic relationships. Here are some books that for the most part branch off of those plots.

Delirium- A dystopian novel about a world were love is viewed as a disease.
Avalon High- A modern take on the King Arthur legend. A nice mix of fantasy with a modern setting.
An Abundance of Katherines- A trip to a small town with an unexpected romance.
The Awakening- A supernatural story about a teenaged girl who can raise the dead. I’m not normally into books like that but it’s perfect for Halloween!

Phone Photo Diary: Fall Lovin

Here are some things I’ve been into lately.

I’ve gotten into baking pies recently, it’s one of my absolute favourite desserts so it’s nice to be able to make it myself instead of buying it. I’ve also been enjoying taking pictures of my feet in brightly coloured fallen leaves. Last Christmas I got a Martha Stewart heat embossing (it’s basically a blow dryer thing that you use to melt glitter stuff) card making kit and I’ve been into spending time making birthday cards. Of course I had to include a picture of my favourite holiday Starbucks drink the peppermint hot chocolate. It’s so delicious because tastes like mint chocolate chip ice cream in a cup!

The Stuffed Squash Experiment

StuffedSquash

I like to say that I can bake but in no way can I cook. My cooking skills go as far a making pasta (once I managed lighting some on fire). Occasionally I’ll find a recipe I think sounds cool (or looks pretty) on Pinterest and give it a try. This weekend I made Southwestern Stuffed Spaghetti Squash and it actually turned out really well. I used this recipe HERE from The Comfort of Cooking. I totally recommend trying it out. I recommend cooking the squash for a bit longer than it says to, other than that it turned out really well!

Fall Shoe Combinations

FallShoes

I love being able to wear boots and a variation of shoes in the fall. When deciding on what shoes to wear it’s “important” (if you find fashion important) to consider the rest of your outfit mainly your bottoms. Here are some of my personal favourites.
