Photography Fridays: Flowers

The only thing I don’t like about fall is that there’re no flowers (there are mums but that’s kinda it). So I thought I’d share a photography series from this past spring which features hand drawn (then Photoshoped) drawings and chopped up images of plants. It’s inspired by the idea of taking 5 deep breaths to relax yourself and reflect.

Phone Photo Diary: Springtime Things

Photo 2014-06-11, 4 57 26 PM

These are some photos that sum up my favorite things from this spring. Henna! I don’t know whats up with my school, someone is always fundraising by giving people henna or by having a bake sale! I’m not complaining though! I’ve gotten into watercolour painting  these past few months. I paint an excessive amount of sunsets and flowers. I’ve also loved drinking water with fruit. My favourite combos are lime + cucumber and lemon + raspberries. I also saw The Fault in Our Stars it inspired me and my friend to take this cheesy infinity photo. The movie made me sob! I was still crying when the lights came back on in the theater. Other than that event, it’s been a good spring!

iPhone Wallpaper: Find Beauty In Everything

I made this iPhone wallpaper. It’s a nice reminder to look for positive things instead of searching and dwelling on the negative. A positive for me, the weather finally got it’s self together and it’s starting to feel like spring!

Spring Style Inspiration: Selena Gomez

I’ve been a fan of Selena Gomez since she was on Wizards of Waverly Place. I’ve always admired her style, even then. I think her casual street style always looks super cute but It must be hard to be photographed constantly! I like how comfortable and bohemian her outfits look. The key elements of these outfits are a white bag, sunglasses, and headbands. I will definitely be taking inspiration from these outfits for spring!

3 Ways To Wear A Denim Top

I bought this over priced cropped denim top from American Apparel a few years back. For the longest time I couldn’t figure out a way to wear it. Recently however I’ve found a few ways that work and make the top worth the money. These work especially well in the spring and summer months.

One way is to layer it under a looser fitting top to create the illusion of a collar. It definitely has a more preppy and sophisticated vibe to it.

Another way is to tie it at the front and wear it as a top with a patterned high-wasted skirt. It gives the top some shape and makes it more unique. My favourite way is wearing it as a denim vest over dresses to give a girly dress some edgier contrast.
