If you feel like being festive tomorrow here is a super casual but cute (I think it’s cute at least) outfit for Valentine’s day. If you own anything with hearts on it tomorrow is the day to wear it! I painted hearts on this black pair of leggings from H&M with fabric pain and made a heart stencil out of cardboard. The painted leggings aren’t necessary though, I would simply recommend wearing white and red and neutralize it with black bottoms and boots. If this is all too much work for you just eat lots of chocolate to get into the spirit.
Happy Valentine’s Day <3
I’m awful and dressing appropriately for the weather. This outfit however works for me. Maybe it’s not a super warm jacket (those always tend to be extremely puffy) but it works for rainy days and days with snow. The Hunter rain boots are definitely key (obviously you don’t need Hunter Rain boots any will do) I wear them with a fleece lining so they keep my feet really warm and they’re water proof. The jacket from Garage isn’t the warmest but you can wear a sweater underneath for extra warmth. I also prefer to wear dark pants because if your pants get a bit wet from the rain or snow you don’t notice it as much.
This winter I also started wearing hats (I’m not only against puff coats but hats because they always fit weird) but they’re super handy to keep your hair in place and of course warmth this one is from American Eagle. I threw in some beauty products for fun. Waterproof mascara is always a good idea in general but especially on rainy days, and lip stain because well honestly I just like that lip stain and its a bright colour which will spice up the outfit, and blue glittery nail polish because it matches the colours in the outfit. I also enjoy using my Otter Box phone case on days like today because its protective which is good on days you don’t want it to get wet and because I regret being persuaded into buying a $30 phone case that isn’t even that cute so I needed to find a use for it.
It’s hard waking up early in the morning, especially in the winter because for me it’s still dark out. Here are a few things that I find make early mornings a bit nicer.
– Plan out your outfit the night before cause I don’t trust my fashion decisions at 7AM.
-Have everything ready to go the night before like a lunch, wallet, or anything you’ll need for the day.
-Take a travel mug, it always makes me feel cool (I’m probably not though). I love taking peppermint or chai tea.
-Have a calming alarm clock song. I used to have Katy Perry’s “Waking Up in Vagas” (I thought it was clever) as my alarm but it always scared me, stressed me out, and made me to this day dislike that song. Try some soft pop music like Ariana Grande or country.
-Have a go to breakfast for when you’ve opened up every cupboard 3 times and don’t know what to eat. Mine is a smoothie with 1 cup of chocolate almond milk, 1 frozen banana, and 1/4 a cup of oats.
Hope you have a good morning and if you’re on vacation on some tropical island right now I’ve very jealous of you.
So most of these photos are of food, all I did over winter break was eat. There was chocolate, tea, massive amounts of gingerbread cookies, ginger bread cookie dough (there was a power outage and I didn’t want it to go to waste), cake, and more chocolate. A three day power outage leading up to Christmas Eve led for an interesting turn of events but being lucky enough to stay with friends with power made it fun. Except for staring out the window watching branches come crashing to the ground it was a great adventure filled with a lot of food and thankfullnes.
Even though it’s January 3ed it isn’t to late to start using books like these that you use daily. I think they’re super fun (from my 3 day experience). The Q&A a day is a 5 year journal which asks you 365 different questions. You then answer them again over the course of 5 years. I love the questions but I’m more excited to read everything back 5 years from now. Demi Lovato’s book Staying Strong 365 days a year is super motivational (sometimes I find it a bit too motivational) but it’s really nice to have quotes and inspiration every day. My favorite part is the daily goal which challenges you to do things like try new things and have a more positive outlook. These are way more engaging than any calender and I find the Q&A book great because I’ve never been able to maintain a diary (I have like 20 but all a quarter full) but hopefully this will maintain my attention.
